WomenGive!

Women philanthropists are called in many directions to exercise their social, financial and creative capital to address today’s pressing social needs. The most impactful philanthropy, however, is accomplished through focused, intentional leadership that draws upon innovation in the field and collaborative thinking.

Southern California Grantmakers cordially invites you to join friends and colleagues in the relaunch of WomenGive! on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at the Luxe Hotel in Brentwood.

We will take a thoughtful look at how women philanthropists can understand and direct their evolving leadership roles, as well as ways to catalyze and source best practices as philanthropists.

Participants will hear from--and interact with--national legacy mentor and philanthropic advisor Tracy Gary, a member of the Pillsbury family and the great granddaughter of the inventor of the dial telephone. Gary is a leader in the Women Moving Millions initiative, a groundbreaking partnership of women donors who have raised more than $181 million to address critical social issues like poverty and global security.

Gary will address how women philanthropists, both individually and collectively, can learn and work together to effect greater change in our communities and the world. She will also share trends and tools to help leverage individual philanthropy for greatest impact. The event will conclude with high tea and networking.
