Like the rest of the state, Southern California faces an educator shortage in K-12 and post-secondary education. Join the SCG’s Education Funders Group meeting to understand the educator challenges facing school systems in our region. We will be joined by education leaders working in the afterschool and art teacher development areas and policy advisors working to support strategies that improve the educator workforce. Additionally, we will hear how the California Educator Workforce Collaborative is bringing state agency leaders together to improve the affordability of teacher preparation—especially candidates of color and those who will serve early childhood and multi-language learners. Learn how philanthropy can engage and support strategies to strengthen the educator workforce.
