Philanthropy CA and the Center for Nonprofit Management invite you to a timely discussion on the profound and ongoing impacts of the recent Los Angeles wildfires on the nonprofit sector. New research from the Center for Nonprofit Management highlights the threat of severe impact the wildfires might be having on nonprofits and the essential services they provide. Nonprofits in impacted areas represent $9.5 billion in assets and resources that may have been interrupted, lost, or encumbered. Organizations in the fire perimeter alone accounted for $3 billion in potential losses.
Designed for philanthropic funders, this conversation will explore both immediate challenges and the broader implications for nonprofit sustainability and community resilience. This is an opportunity for funders to hear directly from leaders on the frontlines and explore how strategic investments can help rebuild and strengthen the nonprofit ecosystem for the long haul.
This webinar will feature nonprofit leaders whose organizations have been directly affected by the crisis, offering insights into how these disasters have disrupted services, strained resources, and underscored the need for long-term recovery investments. Panelists will share preliminary insights on how the nonprofit sector has been impacted, firsthand experiences, discuss emerging needs, and highlight opportunities for funders to support strategic, equity-centered recovery efforts.
Final speakers will be announced soon.
