Family Philanthropy

SCG’s FFIX peer learning groups provide ongoing support and best practices through intensive discussions with peers. Meeting five times a year, the confidential groups serve as safe spaces to explore new avenues of grantmaking, gain critical skills, and find support and encouragement among peers.

SCG's Family Foundation members have exclusive access to our Quarterly Family Philanthropy Newsletter, where we share the latest news, trends, and opportunities for family funders.

Our annual Family Philanthropy Conference is the premiere gathering of family foundations serving Southern California communities. Attendees gain critical insights into the sector, hear from leaders in the field, and connect with peers to share wisdom on how to create a stronger philanthropic community.

SCG has partnered with the National Center for Family Philanthropy (NCFP) to offer our members free access to NCFP's family-focused webinars and robust database of resources for philanthropic families. SCG staff can also connect members with programmatic experts at NCFP to help identify resources and solutions to common problems in family giving.

Accessing NCFP Benefits

SCG members can access NCFP's webinars and resources for free by creating an account at NCFP.org. There is no limit to the number of user accounts an SCG member organization can make.
