Join us April 11-12 and June 26-27, 2024!
The Inland Empire Funders Alliance is excited to announce Partnering for Equity: San Bernardino County, a two-part series of 2-day immersive co-learning experiences for grantmakers and leaders in the philanthropic, corporate, and public sectors to accurately understand the operating conditions and real stories on the ground in disinvested and marginalized communities — and the opportunities to partner for impact through increased strategic investment and action.
These events will highlight critical issues facing San Bernardino County, its varied sub-regions, and the entire Inland Empire by engaging funders in an immersive co-learning experience with community leaders and fellow funders. Topics to be addressed include:

Southern California’s Inland Empire (San Bernardino and Riverside counties) comprises one of the fastest-growing population centers in the United States. Located 40 miles east of Los Angeles, the IE is rich in diversity, culture, history, and economic opportunity. It is also home to innovative, resourceful, mission-driven nonprofit organizations working in partnership to transform lives, communities, and the region as a whole. San Bernardino County is home to a dynamic and growing population of 2.2 million people, serving as a microcosm and a bellwether for the future of California.
Over the course of each two-day overnight learning visit, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Foster meaningful relationships with community groups, leaders, cultural workers, and experts who are advocating about these topics.
- Deepen their understanding of their role as funders, building trust and empathy to shift power relationships and activate more equitable philanthropic practices.
- Learn about their peers’ funding priorities and activities, enabling them to better coordinate their grantmaking for deeper and broader impact.
- Reduce the burden on community partners by coordinating learning experiences for funders.
