Have you considered ways to expand your philanthropic impact beyond grants? Program Related Investments (PRIs) are one highly versatile investment strategy that private foundations and public charities can use to advance charitable missions. Through PRIs, funders can leverage a greater percentage of philanthropic assets toward achieving social impact goals, including in years when investment portfolios generate smaller returns.
To be classified as a PRI, an investment must meet two main requirements: the primary investment purpose is to advance a charitable purpose, and the financial terms of the investment are in some way “below-market.” And while thousands of private foundations exist, only a few hundred make Program Related Investments regularly. Join us to get the lay of the land on how PRIs can be structured, who can receive them, and their range of impact for investors and investees.
