Leading into the conversations we will be having at SCGs 2023 Annual Conference, REIMAGINE Our Economy, this meeting will discuss the role of private companies in advancing economic inclusion, and what role staff can play in their organizations to align with the initiatives. Businesses can be an incredible force for good and social change, and with vast resources they can help advance solutions for income inequality and create more opportunities for success.
For this session, we are joined by JUST Capital, an independent nonprofit dedicated to building an economy that works for all Americans by measuring and improving corporate stakeholder performance at America’s largest public companies. JUST Capital measures and ranks companies on the issues Americans care about most so investors and consumers can have a more complete view of a company’s impact to help inform their choices around investing and purchasing. The rankings also aid job seekers in evaluating potential employers on their commitments to being a good corporate citizen and those that align with one’s values. The session provides an opportunity to learn how much better the top 100 companies in the JUST rankings compare to other companies across various measures of business success. (Spoiler alert: JUST 100 companies are doing much better.)
If you are looking for ways to articulate and validate how important your work is, this session will give you some tools and insight in how to do that.
