Traditions of Giving is an annual gathering for SCG’s family philanthropy community to reflect on the year’s lessons, learn from emerging leaders moving our sector forward, and contemplate our collective priorities for the year ahead. This year, Traditions will take on a new form as we build upon a central theme from our 2023 Family Philanthropy Town Hall: strengthening our relationships with our local communities.
SCG’s family philanthropy team cordially invites you to participate in a special iteration of Traditions of Giving next month, where we will host a volunteer opportunity with ALMA Backyard Farms, an organization dedicated to reconnecting the lives of the formerly incarcerated back to the fabric of society as agents of health, safety, and community. Together, we will help prepare a harvest for the local community and hear inspirational stories of how this organization is working to impart change through urban agriculture.
We encourage you to join your family philanthropy colleagues as we give back and learn more about how urban farming helps individuals explore the relationships between plants, animals, and humans as a way of creating a profound connection to both nature and their community.
