Description
International hotelier Conrad N. Hilton established the grantmaking foundation that bears his name in 1944 to help people living in poverty and experiencing disadvantage worldwide. Today, the work continues, concentrating on efforts to improve early childhood development outcomes, support older youth as they transition from foster care, ensure opportunity youth can access career pathways, prevent homelessness, identify solutions to safe-water access, help integrate refugees into society and lift the work of Catholic sisters. Additionally, following selection by an independent, international jury, the Foundation annually awards the $2.5 million Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize to an organization doing extraordinary work to reduce human suffering. The Foundation is one of the world's largest, with assets of approximately $7 billion. It has awarded grants to date totaling more than $2.4 billion, $339 million worldwide in 2021.

The Executive Office is seeking a summer intern to assist and support the Communications Internal Manager on various projects, including but not limited to, the overhaul of the Foundation's internal intranet.
The Hub (internal intranet) will migrate to a new platform, the old content will need to be updated and new content will need to be curated. This will require ongoing partnerships and collaboration efforts across Foundation wide departmental teams. With immediate supervision, the intern will be expected to assist with:
Job Summary
- Project management of the website conversion
- Connecting with each team to set up meetings to discuss content needs
- Interviewing each team liaison about desired content
- Pulling out outdated and unnecessary content
- Writing, proofing and editing new content
- Daily meetings with me to strategize the day's priorities related to the intranet
- Weekly meetings with I.T. to report progress and hear updates
- Bi-weekly check ins with each team to gather content and share updates
- The intern will understand the scope of the project and help manage its execution
- The intern will improve interviewing/listening skills with subject matter experts
- The intern will improve writing, editing and proofreading skills
- The intern will develop and foster relationships with staff at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (word, excel and outlook)
- Writing, proofreading, copyediting
Desired Education
- Enrolled in a university or college program at junior or senior level, preferred course of study to include Communications, Broadcasting, English or related
End of Program Expected Learning Objectives
- By the end of this internship, the candidate will have developed networking and relationship-building skills and honed writing and editing skills
- They will have a Foundation intranet to show for their work efforts over this summer
- Term length: 10-12 weeks

- Hourly Pay: $21.00
- Full time weekly hours: 37.50
- Transportation Monthly Stipend: $250.00
