The Strategy, Learning & Evaluation Department (SLED) is seeking a summer intern to assist the team of Learning and Evaluation Officer(s) who collaborate and support teams throughout the Foundation including the Programs Department. The SLED department consists of 8 team members who are individual specialists within their specific field of study, led by the Director of SLED, Sonia Moldovan. The Learning and Evaluation intern will work closely with Learning and Evaluation Officer(s) as part of the Foundation's SLED department. Job Summary- Develop crosswalk of youth/parent (including young parents) voice/engagement, homeless service sector, and catholic sisters indicators within and across the Foundation's initiative grantee portfolios:
- Foster Youth, Global ECD
- Opportunity Youth
- Homelessness
- Catholic Sisters Initiatives
- Support with Los Angeles County coordination activities related to OYI investments (current grant portfolio and potential partners)
- Develop a list of grantee organizations for shared investment between Opportunity Youth and Foster Youth
- Landscape analysis of geographic priorities (specifically: Mexico City and/or Mombasa) affecting young people
- Contribute to the development of a homeless service sector housing investment database and dashboard
- Contribute to data visualization and data analysis of safe water access and affordability data
- Support analysis of safe water participant reach data
- Support development of evaluation partner onboarding materials
- Develop learning calendar (initiative-specific and program-wide)
- Support event planning (eg: learning sessions, coffee chats) and develop process guide
- Develop 2-page Intro to SLED brief for website and to share with new employees
- Weekly initiative team meetings
- 1:1 project check-ins with mentor (weekly)
- Bi-weekly SLED team meetings
- In-office shadowing of different initiative staff members
- Lunch with Foundation staff
- Site visits with Initiative teams, as appropriate

Desired Education
- Enrolled in a university or college program at junior or senior level, preferred course of study to include Social science (eg: sociology, psychology, economics); Business; Education; Public health and/or policy or related
- The intern will have developed networking and relationship-building skills in addition to analytical abilities
- They will have produced at least one report and deliver at least one presentation internally
- Gain high proficiency experience in information technology tools - MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PPT
- Experience proficiency in data management tools such as Power BI and Airtable
- Term length: 10-12 weeks

- Hourly Pay: $21.00
- Full time weekly hours: 37.50
