Young & Healthy is a dynamic nonprofit organization connecting underserved children with free medical, dental, and mental health services from volunteer doctors; helping families through insurance enrollment and navigation; tax services; and providing referrals to local services and partners. Young & Healthy holds an expansive definition of healthcare. Over the course of 32 years, the organization has directly impacted the lives of over 35,000 children, not including the immeasurable positive influence on families, schools, and the overall community. Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager, Client Services and Outreach oversees and manages Young & Healthy programs; medical, dental, mental health, outreach, health insurance, and tax services. This position ensures delivery of programs in accordance with Young & Healthy’s goals and objectives. With superior leadership and organization skills the Program Manager, Client Services and Outreach will provide direct supervision to the Care Team that includes Case Managers, Insurance Enrollers and Tax Preparers. The Program Manager, Client Services and Outreach will be highly skilled in creating and maintaining both internal relationships with key community partners.

Roles & Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Maintains on-going communications with all employees, volunteers, contract, and other program providers and meets with them regularly to assess programs, solve problems, and plan activities.
- Creates and maintains a welcoming, stimulating environment for clients and staff from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Effectively manages employees to meet the goals and objectives of Young & Healthy.
- Ensures employees receive adequate training, guidance, and oversight to promote program excellence and nurture professional development.
- Manages program employee-related issues (i.e., hiring, evaluation, termination).
- Works collaboratively with the Program Manager for Education and Volunteers.
External Relations and Partnerships
- Builds collaborations with agencies, groups, and individuals to provide programs and services that support children within the mission of Young & Healthy.
- Represents Young & Healthy at community meetings and events to increase visibility and strengthen collaborations.
- Oversees outreach activities to engage the community, individual families, and those who may benefit from Young & Healthy services
Program Excellence
- With the Executive Director and Leadership Team, creates, implements, and evaluates programs that will achieve the strategic objectives of Young & Healthy.
- Keeps Executive Director informed of program issues and accomplishments.
- Provides programmatic leadership and input for strategic planning process.
- Maintains awareness of community needs and considers innovation of new programs.
- Actively participates in evaluation of programs by obtaining data and information from employees, forwarding completed client data to evaluation company, and creating a yearly program evaluation document.
- Acts as a key thought partner and collaborator with the Executive Director and the Program Manager for Education and Volunteers on all aspects related to grant compliance and deliverables.
- Responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating special program events, such as, but not limited to the Mobile Dental Clinic.
- Monitors program budgets to ensure financial accountability.
Qualifications
- Master Degree in Public Administration desired, Public Health or Health-related major, a plus
- 5+ years of experience working in the nonprofit social services sector including program management roles/responsibilities
- Expertise in public health a plus
- Proven leadership skills and management experience
- Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English
- Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines and work effectively under stress
- Bilingual-Bicultural (Spanish language) desired
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong and positive interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflict
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and follow through on own initiative
- Good organizational skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and FAMCare software, a plus
