The UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity brings together representatives from academia, government and private/non-profit organizations to leverage community assets to create and disseminate evidence-based practices aimed at reducing health inequities. The Center partners with community agencies, health systems and non-profit organizations to conduct population-based intervention research aimed to mitigate health disparities. In addition, the Center works to increase the capacity of partner organizations to deliver effective health promotion and disease prevention programs for vulnerable population groups. The Center hosts an annual health equity symposium for community partners, delivers a range of training and technical assistance activities, and supports a community seed grant program. Community seed grants may be used to expand, enhance, or evaluate existing programs, or to support new programs. Priority is given to proposals that demonstrate novel approaches and high levels of community commitment.
