Samantha Ortiz has had the majority of her professional experience in accounts payable and working for a non-profit company for more than ten years. It was her mother, a social worker, that cultivated, within her, the desire to work in the non-profit sector. She advised her to apply for a position in the company she works at called AltaMed where she learned administrative duties as a receptionist and later as a data entry clerk. Samantha’s employment at AltaMed grew her appreciation and desire to give back to her community and to support others with the same mission. Samantha’s commitment to non-profit work only deepened during her tenure at Maravilla Foundation where she was last employed as a Staff Accountant. One of Samantha’s favorite quotes inspired by her interest in photography is “Life is like a camera, focus on what is important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, take another shot.” -Author Unknown
Samantha has her B.S. in Business Economics with an emphasis in Finance from Cal State University, Los Angeles.
