SCG's 2024 Policy Conference: Long-Term Visions, Lasting Change
Accessibility
SoCal Grantmakers strives to make our signature events as accessible as possible. Specific accessibility efforts for this year’s Public Policy Conference are detailed below.
We will have staff designated as Accessibility Coordinators on the day of our conference. If you are looking for additional support, please email us in advance at programsrsvp@socalgrantmakers.org with the subject line, “Accommodation Request.” On the day of the conference, you can visit the registration desk to be connected to an Accessibility Coordinator.
Arriving
Please allow ample time to get to The California Endowment. The nearest metro station to our conference venue is Union Station positioned 0.3 miles from The California Endowment, Union Station is served by rail and by bus rapid transit. Plan your trip here.
Free parking is available at the Endowment on a first-come, first-served basis; enter via Bauchet Street. To view detailed instructions, please click here.
Health & Safety
- All attendees are encouraged to wear a mask and take a covid rapid test on the morning of the conference.
- Masks and rapid tests will be available at the registration desk upon request.
Communications
- Live captioning will be available in the main room for all plenary sessions. Attendees who requested captioning during conference registration should have received outreach from SCG staff.
- ASL will be available in the main room for all plenary sessions. Reserved seating will be available at the front of the ballroom for attendees who need to sit near interpreters.
- Microphones will be used by all speakers to amplify sound during all sessions.
Dietary Needs
- Dietary needs collected during registration were used to inform menu choices throughout the event.
- Passover-friendly meals will be available for those observing.
Additional Rooms
- A mother’s room is available on the first floor. The room has power, a mini-fridge, and a sink. The room is available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be unlocked if not in use.
- A quiet room is available to attendees (2nd floor, SCG offices) at any time throughout the day. Inquire at the registration desk for access.
Restrooms
- Restrooms with accessible stalls are located on every level.
- Unscented hand soap in freestanding bottles will be available in all restrooms on the first floor.
- An all-gender restroom is available on the first floor.
Outdoor Access
- You are welcome to spend time in the outdoor courtyard if you need fresh air. The conference reception will also take place in this location.
