SCG’s Commitment to Racial Equity

SCG has a deep commitment to equity and remains resolute that a focus on racial justice is integral to our vision of advancing transformative change to create an equitable and thriving society. While SCG's vision has embraced a broad concept of equity, we believe it necessary to explicitly name race when exploring the root causes of inequity, the historical impacts of these disparities, and the bold solutions needed for people and communities to thrive. For this reason, SCG continues to apply a racial equity lens to all facets of its work. Furthermore, SCG is proud to formally include "Racial Equity" in its list of organizational values.

SCG understands that its members and funding partners have varied missions and diverse grantmaking strategies and are at different stages in their racial equity journeys. SCG commits to working alongside all its members with a stated interest in equity and racial justice to "meet them where they are" and support them in their personal and professional development. To that end, SCG members have access to a range of offerings to help them become more effective grantmakers, as well as opportunities to learn, collaborate, and act on issues that foster a more just and equitable world.

We firmly believe that equity and racial justice are essential to driving impactful change within the philanthropic and social sectors. We also know we cannot achieve our vision without partnership. SCG strives to build an inclusive community of grantmakers and partners committed to addressing inequity and creating opportunities for all people. We know our work is ultimately more impactful and successful when we bring our sector together.
