Human Rights for Kids (HRFK) has just released "Crimes Against Humanity: The Mass Incarceration of Children in the United States”. This report is the first of its kind to bring data and transparency to just how many people are currently incarcerated in U.S. prisons for crimes committed when they were children, and to make the case that the treatment of children in justice systems in the United States is an ongoing human rights violation. We hope you'll join us to hear an overview of the report, the perspectives of impacted individuals and some of the leading organizations in this work, and why it's time for a renewed commitment to resources for advocacy around ending the human rights abuses described in the report. A brief presentation by HRFK CEO, James Dold, will be followed by a panel discussion with staff from Human Rights Watch, the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth, the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, and Human Rights for Kids.
