In response to the racial awakening in 2020, many pledges to support the BIPOC communities around the nation were made by corporations, foundations, and governments. Riverside and San Bernardino Counties both declared that racism a public health crisis.Where are we today? How has life changed or shifted? Join us at IEFA’s August general meeting to listen to speakers share what progress has been made and what needs to be done. How can we better center racial equity in grantmaking?Our Focus Conversation will feature Salomeh Wagaw, MPH, first Program Director of Health Equity for Riverside County Department of Public Health, in conversation with Anita Dharapuram, VP/Community Consultant, Community Development Banking for PNC Bank and member of the IE Funders Alliance's Advisory Board. This will be followed by an interactive discussion on how each of us can take action to advance racial equity within our own sphere of influence.

The Inland Empire Funders Alliance is a network of organizations with significant grantmaking activities in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties that have joined together to increase communication, coordination, and collaboration.
