From coming together in-person for the first time since the start of the pandemic to raising millions of dollars for racial equity and power building in the IE, 2022 has been a banner year for the Funders Alliance! As the year comes to a close, we invite you to join us in reflecting on all of the meaningful accomplishments we have created together this past year. We will take some time to highlight our collective and individual successes, look ahead to what 2023 has in store for IEFA, and share space in community with one another.
We are excited to announce that our meeting will be hosted by Youth Mentoring Action Network at their newly inaugurated Youth Power Hub in Upland. YMAN is one of IEFA's nonprofit partners, a youth power-building organization facilitating transformative mentoring, education, and wellness opportunities with young people in the IE and across the globe. Their innovative "critical mentoring" approach reframes the mentoring experience as a youth-centered one, with an emphasis on race, ethnicity, class, citizenship, gender, and sexuality. In addition, YMAN has contributed to IEFA members' education and awareness by participating in previous panels, such as YMAN Chief Visionary Officer, Dr. Torie Weiston-Serdan, participating in the June member meeting conversation on Healing Justice.
Due to the social and interactive nature of this meeting, we highly recommend you attend in person. If your organization is a full member of the Funders Alliance, you will be sent additional details regarding location and other logistical information after registering. If your organization is not a member, we hope you will join now — or that we will see you virtually at the next member meeting in February 2023.
