In the face of collective trauma and the cumulative grief of over two years of pandemic loss that has fallen disproportionately on people already burdened by economic inequity and systemic racism, our communities and our own bodies call out for healing. Collective care of our body, heart, and spirit is a necessity to enable community leaders — and all of us — to restore our well-being and recenter our humanity so we can continue our ongoing struggle for well-being, equity, and justice.
The Focus Conversation of our upcoming bimonthly member meeting will be on Healing Justice, featuring guest speakers Torie Weiston-Serdan, Ph.D. (Youth Mentoring Action Network), Jesus Sanchez (Gente Organizada), and Jean Kayano (The People’s Collective for Environmental Justice) in a discussion hosted by Margarita Luna, IEFA Chair; The California Endowment. This will be followed by a highly interactive Sensemaking Conversation in which we will reflect on where we are individually and collectively in this ongoing pandemic journey.
