Getting Around The Westin
Please allow some time to move from space to space throughout the day. The Westin hotel is large and can be confusing to navigate. In the morning, SCG staff will be stationed at the four first-floor entrances, the one second-floor entrance, and the one sixth-floor skybridge entrance to assist members with wayfinding. All programming will be held on the second floor except for the breakout sessions (first floor) and the post-conference reception (fourth floor, weather permitting).
- General elevators DO NOT REACH ALL EVENT FLOORS. The four color-coded towers only go to guest rooms and do not stop at the second floor, where most of our conference will be held. Please take the escalators, stairs, or the ADA elevator to reach levels two and four.
- The ADA elevator reaches all event floors and is available to any attendee who needs it. This elevator is located near the Green Tower, to the left of the hotel check-in desk on the lobby level.
- Escalators and stairs reach all event floors. You can find the escalator on the Figueroa St. side of the building, near the gift shop on the lobby level.
Health & Safety
- All attendees are encouraged to wear a mask and take a covid rapid test on the morning of the conference.
- Masks and rapid tests will be available at the registration desk upon request.
Communications
- Live captioning will be available in the main ballroom for all sessions and in the breakout session rooms upon request. Attendees who requested captioning during conference registration should have received outreach from SCG staff.
- ASL will be available in the main ballroom for all sessions and in the breakout session, “An Economy for All: The Urgency of Disability Inclusion for Economic Justice.” Reserved seating will be available at the front of the ballroom for attendees who need to sit near interpreters.
- Microphones will be used by all speakers to amplify sound during all sessions.
Dietary Needs
- Dietary needs collected during registration were used to inform menu choices throughout the event.
- Click here to access the breakfast, lunch, and reception menu.
Additional Rooms
- Lactation rooms are available on the first and second floors. The rooms will have power, a mini-fridge, labeling supplies (sharpie and masking tape), and a drinking water station. The room will be locked and available on a first-come, first-served basis via keys that will be available at the registration desk. Please return the key once you are finished using the room.
- A quiet room is available to attendees (2nd floor, Echo Park) at any time throughout the day.
Restrooms
- Restrooms with accessible stalls are located on every level.
- Unscented hand soap in freestanding bottles will be available in all restrooms on the second floor, on either side of the main conference lobby/ballroom.

- Multi-stall, gendered men’s and women’s restrooms will be available on the second floor and on the lobby level.
Outdoor Access
- You are welcome to visit the outdoor rooftop pool deck on the fourth floor if you need fresh air. There is also a grassy area for service animals on this floor. You can access this deck by using the escalators, stairs, or ADA elevator. The conference reception will also take place in this location, weather permitting.
