Today, many family foundations seek to expand and deepen their relationships with community leaders to center the experiences, wisdom, and solutions of people most impacted by systemic inequity. However, many are hitting roadblocks in advancing their equity efforts. Sometimes family funders may feel limited in what they can achieve when long-standing family traditions and values prevent them from adequately responding to the needs of their grantees and the communities they serve.
Join SoCal Grantmakers for our 2023 Family Foundation Town Hall, Reimagine Power & Practice, as we explore how family philanthropy can take bolder risks and reimagine the practices no longer serving our sector. We are proud to host an incredible lineup of speakers, including nonprofit and community leaders, next-gen leaders, and local and national family foundation experts who will challenge us to REIMAGINE how to shift power and share leadership with the community members we serve. Through their candid experiences and wisdom, our speakers will address how funders can rebalance power dynamics and challenge traditional family mindsets around governance, racial equity, community partnerships, and funding practices.
